１２月は全国的に重大交通事故が多発する傾向にあります。今年度は市内でも子供に関わる交通事故が１０件を超えています。

以下に気を付けて事故防止の徹底を図りましょう。

１　道路を横断するときは、横断歩道のあるところを横断し、飛び出しや、駐車（停車）車両の近くからは絶対に横断しない。

２　トラックなど大きい車両の右左折時は、車両の動きに特に注意する。

３　一時停止場所や出会いがしらの事故につながるような見通しの悪い場所では一時停止し、左右の安全を確認してから歩行、または走行する。

４　自転車に乗るときは、ヘルメットをかぶり、交差点では必ず止まる。

◎　The number of serious traffic accidents tends to increase in December nationwide. This year, there have been more than 10 traffic accidents involving children in Hachioji.

Take the following precautions to prevent accidents.

1 When crossing the street, cross at a crosswalk and never jump out of the way or cross from near parked (or stopped) vehicles.

2 Pay special attention to the movement of large vehicles such as trucks when turning right or left.

3. When riding a bicycle, stop at a stop sign or in an area with poor visibility where an encounter could result in an accident, and check the safety of your surroundings before walking or riding.

4 When riding a bicycle, always wear a helmet and stop at intersections.
